What can I expect from the first session? 

To start with we’ll get to know each other. Why do you want to come to counselling? What are your hopes and expectations for what it might achieve? Perhaps most importantly, you’ll get a feel for whether you feel comfortable with me. If you do, you can begin to tell your story; if not, there’s absolutely no obligation to book another session.


How many sessions should I expect to attend?

It’s entirely up to you. For some people, even just a couple of sessions can prove very useful. For others, it may be a longer term process. I understand that people are much more open and expansive if they’re not feeling pressurised - if they feel they’ve got to come, counselling is far less likely to be effective.
